Tyagaraja utsavam

Needamangalam V.V.S. Foundation and Meera Fine Arts jointly conduct Tyagaraja’s 244th Jayanthi Sangeetha Utsavam on April 24, at Sri Ayyappan Temple, Madipakkam.

The event begins at 6 a.m. with a puja followed by the rendition of Tyagaraja kritis by musicians and students. At 6 p.m. P.S. Narayaswami, who will preside over the function, will confer the title ‘Sangeetha Kala Bharathy’ on musicians such as P.B. Srirangachari, Dr. R. Ganesh, A.S. Murali, Embar R. Kasturi, Dr. Radha Bhaskar, G. Srikanth, C.A. Rajasekar, Mudicondan S.N. Ramesh, Vazhuvoor Ravi and Kumbakonam K. Ramakrishnan. The evening programme includes rendition of Pancharathna kritis by eminent musicians.
