Shortly after the preliminary ‘kritis' glorifying Lord Ganapathy were sung, musicians in Tiruchi offered ‘aradhana' of Sadguru Tyagaraja, one of the Music Trinity, at a function organised by the Sri Sathguru Thiagabrahma Aradhana Trust and Sri Sathguru Sangeetha Sabha here on Friday.

The artistes rendered the kritis -‘Jagadananda karaka' in ‘Naatai' ragam first followed by ‘Dudukugala' in ‘Gawla' ragam; ‘Sadhinchane' in ‘Arabi'; ‘Kanakana Ruchira' in ‘Varali' ragam; and ‘Endaro Mahanubavulu in Sri Ragam'.

The vocalists included a galaxy of singers – J. Venkataraman; Tiruchi K. Ramesh; Mythily Jagannathan; Kalyani and Kashyap Mahesh. Intelligent support on violin was given by Tiruchi Ramprasad, Rahul.

Mridangam vidwans B. Sivaraman, Konerirajapuram Varadarajan and Kallidaikurichi Sivakumar; while Morsing support was given by Vishnupuram Raghu; the kanchira support was given by Alathur Rajaganesh.

S. Thiyagarajan, secretary of the trust, said that the ‘aradhana' in the shrine dedicated to Lord Rama, Sri Sita and Sri Thyagabrahmam was a right tribute to the great music composer.
