SRM University will be conducting the ninth edition of its national-level techno-management fest, Aaruush’15 from September 9 to 12 at its Kattankulathur campus in Chennai.

With Lenovo as the title sponsor, this year’s theme is “Aaruush towards Infinity – Unleashing Creativity, Imagineering Dimensions.”

The fest will be inaugurated by Padma Bhushan Dr. V.K. Saraswat, member of NITI Aayog, former director general of DRDO and scientific advisor to the Defence Minister of India.

Aaruush’15 will have more than 50 events spread out over 14 domains, ranging from high-level robotics to biotechnology use in everyday life.

It will also feature ten workshops, five pro-shows and a performance by the Indian rock band AGNEE. In addition to this, there will be guest lectures by national and international innovators such as Anand Kumar, Rajeeva Karandikar, Shradha Sharma, Shravan and Sanjay Kumaran and Team Indus. An open debate, Unconference, will be conducted on ‘NaMoNomics’ and ‘Leading India: Science or Politics’. The Industrial Conclave on the theme ‘Is An Idea All That Matters’ is another interesting feature which will help you conceptualise your own start-up.

This year's expos include Auto Expo, with Madras Piston Heads bringing in some exotic vehicles; the DRDO Expo; the Air-Force Expo; a culturally enriching Newspaper Expo; the Naval Expo and the Coin Expo.

Besides this, Aaruush’15 is hosting four major championships — Robowars, UAV, Coding and Sports.

Pre-Aaruush events such as Swastika and the literacy programme have been some of the standout features. The literacy programme, Aaruush Educates, is an initiative where interactive sessions are held with underprivileged children, providing them with books and stationary. The paper-bag campaign and the SRM RUN were a few important initiatives undertaken by Aaruush this year to highlight the importance of a clean environment. For more details, visit www.aaruush.net.
