Prof. S. Sundar, Department of Mathematics, IIT Madras, has been awarded “Alumni Ambassador of the City of Kaiserslautern, Germany”. He is one among the four recipients, including the president of Google, Europe, and the only Indian to receive this award. Awardees have been selected by a high-level committee comprising members from Technical University of Kaiserslautern and other technological institutes of the city Kaiserslautern.

The official communication received by Prof. Sundar from the Lord Mayor of Kaiserslautern says that “During the selection, it was of the utmost importance to us to gain internationally-renowned representatives as Alumni Ambassadors.” Prof. Sundar will be receiving this award on December 7 at the City of Kaiserslautern. The occasion will; feature Technical Presentation, Panel Discussion and the Award Ceremony.

Prof. Sundar was a recipient of DAAD Fellowship. He was a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Industrial Mathematics, TU Kaiserslautern, after his Ph.D. from IIT Madras in 1989. Since then he has been intensively collaborating with Industrial Mathematics group of TU Kaiserslautern. Prof. Sundar works in the area of Mathematical Modelling and Numerical Simulation.
