Bharat Raj has to wait for sometime before he could indulge his craving for ice creams and chocolates. For, Bharat, who won two titles at the recently conducted Muscle Mania 2015, a natural body building competition, is getting ready for a series of competitions.
“For two days after Muscle Mania 2015, I gorged on chocolates and ice creams. I was 80 kg on stage and three days later, I was overweight by 10 kilos,” says the 6 feet 1 inch Bharat, whose body ripples with muscles. There is no place for good food in the life of a champion.
“Winning the Muscle Mania 2015 Model India Winner makes me eligible to participate in the international pageant at Las Vegas in November. Plus, I have two more competitions coming up. So, I have to get back to shape,” says Bharat, a celebrity lifestyle coach whose clientele includes Vikram, Sarathkumar and Vishal.
More than winning Muscle Mania, Bharat says managing his clients was tough.
“Most of my clients have a busy schedule and if they did not encourage me, I would not be able to participate in the event,” says 25-year-old Bharat. He spent four weeks getting trained under Saveen, head coach of FITT Club, Bangalore.
Bharat is a national basketball player representing State Bank of India. He got into the fitness field by accident. In his first year at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, he met with a bike accident that fractured his collar bone. To get back to shape, he went to gym. The rest is history, as they say.
“I was among the top four at the Mr Chennai event held in 2009. I got noticed as I was only 19 and so started getting more offers to walk the ramp,” he recalls, reeling out a list of titles he has won.
After a short stint in a private firm, Bharat opened The Body Studio at Besant Nagar last July where skills such as body sculpting, muscle gain, agility training and boxing are offered.
