Like any other child his age, 10-year-old Nanda Bala loves to watch cartoon and animation films. But his interest has taken him a step further that most others his age. He has cleared an entrance examination and acquired a scholarship from a private institution for pursuing a course in animation.

Nanda Bala, a Class V student of Kendriya Vidyalaya and resident of Kottur, completed courses in MS Office before he was four years old and Coral Draw when he was six.

Though he is proficient in computers, he does not want to be a software engineer. He wants to become a doctor.

In memory of his father who lost his life while serving the nation as an Armyman, Nanda wants to join the Army as a military doctor.

“Soldiers protect the nation risking their lives and I will feel proud if I can serve them as a doctor,” he says. His grandfather has brought him a stethoscope and a thermometer.

Nanda can identify flags, languages and the capitals of the nations in the United Nations Organisation. This distinction has fetched him prizes in various competitions.

The family survives on the pension received by his mother. Nanda and his mother Saraswathy can be contacted at 94445 60163.
