“This is my only bad habit and the biggest personal disapointment in my life. I've promised myself that I will kick this habit before the new year begins,” says actor Sunil as he takes one last puff before making himself comfortable for a tete-a-tete. Dressed in flowery prints, with one side of the shirt tucked in and the other falling over his trouser, a huge pendant of Christ dangling on his neck he looks every inch a poolarangadu . He is shooting at Kokapet and refuses to pose for the camera; he doesn't want a particular appearance to be out in the media as yet lest that take away the suspense excitement. Is that why he is not attending many events and gatherings? He gives an elaborate explanation, “The tight schedules don't give me time to socialise as I'm tired and hit the sack as soon as I reach home. When I do make time and attend, people force me to eat. Warding off temptation is difficult. It's okay to feed 100 people who are hungry but not those who are full. My tummy is full, if I take an extra morsel, I'll have to carry it life long. People will misunderstand if I speak of all this. ”

Extra efforts

Ever since he switched over to being a hero from a comedian, Sunil has been putting a lot of hard work. Kadha, Screenplay, Darsakatvam Appalaraju was a case in point. The actor concurs, “I feel if I don't put in extra effort I won't succeed so I always give more than required. I cross the limit, konchem over ga chestaa . I lost my father when I was young, I realised very early what responsibility means and since I had no backing I had to push myself in every aspect to be noticed and achieve success. Earlier my friend Trivikram Srinivas would motivate me, but now I keep telling myself every minute not to lose focus.”

Sunil's diary for the next year is full. It begins with Chinni Krishna's movie, there is a remake of Tanu Weds Manu , Hari Krishna who works for Sukumar in his story department will be handling one project and there is one with Vamsi; but what is he offering in Poolarangadu ? He explains, “ Poolarangadu is a village guy who never compromises on his style and looks even if he is in penury. He will have no qualms taking loans to look stylish and presents, pompous look. Despite having one pair of clothes, he will iron it, wear and walk around like a king. People liked my dances in Andala Ramudu , here I'm working towards giving people a different feeling, that element of shock in the climax. People should say that wasn't Sunil.” How does he de-stress after a hard day's work? “With my two children; Kundana, who's six and Dushyant Verma who is one year old. Spending time with them gives me immense happiness,” he says.
