Sriram Raghavan is one dedicated filmmaker. The man, who has to his credit powerful films such as “Ek Haseena Thi” and “Johny Gaddaar”, is ready for his next release “Agent Vinod” with Saif and Kareena. We hear that on the final day of shoot — supposed to be on a boat in Morocco — the man got so involved with his shots that he didn't realise more than half his crew had retired hurt, or rather, sick. Of a 20-member cast and crew that the director had taken with him, just his director of photography, his first assistant director, Saif and the villain remained standing after a day-long shoot in choppy waters. The rest? They got seasick and were ferried in the boat that was following them!
Wake up call
Meanwhile, other shooting woes were reported from West Bengal where the team of “Lootera” (starring Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh) has been stationed. We hear that since the shoot is happening in rural Khanyaan, which has no place to stay, the cast and crew are put up in Kolkata. Daily commute time is four hours, and hence they get to sleep only for about three or fours hours every night. Last week, when they got a day off the shoot, so wired was Sonakshi to the schedule that she still woke up at five in the morning!
Win some, lose some
Deepika Padukone has allegedly left “Race 2” as a last-minute decision. The Bengaluru girl's decision to quit the multi-star-cast film following producer Ramesh Taurani publicly lashing out against the actor. However, the reason behind Deepika's backtrack is apparently because of her inclusion in the Rajnikanth-starrer “Kochadaiyaan” directed by the South superstar's daughter Soundarya. Deepika was apparently fighting tooth and nail for the role, and finally managed to pip Katrina Kaif to the post. The latter had zero availability of dates.
