The Chennai International Film Festival also turned out to be a great excuse for the inauguration of the renovated Casino theatre on December 15. Director Dharani spent Sunday catching films at Casino. “I watched four films today. All of them were great,” said Dharani,
after the red carpet screening of Beasts of the Southern Wild at INOX on Sunday evening. The other films he loved were I, Anna (German), Therese D (French) and Un Amor (Argentinian). Dharani is one of the few filmmakers from the mainstream who seems to have spent all his time catching world cinema.
He had a lot to talk about Kiarostami's Like Someone in Love and Haneke's Amour at the after parties with filmmakers Gayathri and Pushkar.
