Looks like Deepika Padukone’s Kollywood connection will continue for a while. The Kochadaiyaan actor has been approached to play a role in Shankar’s upcoming. Though her character appears only in the second half, it’s said to be an important role. Deepika hasn’t given her consent yet. Meanwhile, the shooting for this Aascar Ravichandran production has begun. Vikram and Amy Jackson play the lead, and AR Rahman scores the music.

There’s been lots of news coming in about actor Ajith and director Vishnuvardhan’s next project together. The latest is that Rana Daggubati has been roped in to play a key role. Produced by A.M. Rathnam’s new banner, the film has Arya, Nayanthara and Taapsee too. Ajith is said to be playing an IT hacker. The first schedule of the shoot is over. The producer and director are said to be looking for a title, and apparently, if they cannot come up with one, they’ll seek the help of Ajith’s fans.
Game for challenges
Actor Monika is delighted to be playing a role in director T. Samidurai’s film Kurumbukaara Pasanga . Says the actor: “I look for roles that challenge me. In this film, I’m paired with Sanjeev. I’m doing 916 , a Malayalam film, a Malaysian Tamil film shot in Malaysia, and one in Kannada too.”
