Post the success of “Nanban”, actor Vijay has one more reason to cheer about — “Thuppaki”, with director A.R. Murugadoss is shaping up well. And, he jokes: “In ‘Thuppaki' (pistol), I'm the ‘thottaa' (bullet).” Now that “Nanban” is a hit, will he go for multi-star cast movies again? “I will — if it has a story of this kind and a director like Shankar.” And, how about getting back to singing? “I know it's been a while. You'll soon see my crooning a couple of numbers,” says the actor.
Birthday twice over
Guess who got a birthday gift that befits the daughter of an actor-couple? Khushboo and Sundar C.'s daughter Ananditha got to celebrate her ninth birthday with her friends — with a special screening of “Nanban” and cake-cutting at Four Frames. The delighted daughter apparently planted a firm ‘thank you' kiss on her mother's cheek, as the proud dad looked on. But, more touchingly, earlier, at the stroke of midnight, the birthday girl was woken up to wishes from her father, and she cut a cake too. Well, talk of a birthday celebrated twice over!
Just love it!
Actor Siddharth was looking for Balaji Mohan after he stumbled upon the latter's 10-minute film on YouTube. Someone else had watched the video too, and wanted to turn it into a full-length feature film. Interestingly, producer Sashikanth approached Siddharth to play the lead in the film “Kadhalil Sodhappuvadhu Eppadi”, written and directed by Balaji Mohan. The film's co-produced by cinematographer Nirav Shah and Siddharth's Etaki Entertainment. “I was happy to accept the offer when Sashikanth approached me with the story; perhaps, because I've committed the ‘sodhappudhal' in love at one point in time too! After this film, I'm doing a project with director Vettrimaran's production. There are Telugu and Hindi films too in the pipeline. S. Thaman, my buddy from ‘Boys', has composed wonderful numbers for the film,” says the actor.
