Photography is a hobby for many and a livelihood for some. If you are exploring commercial photography as a career, look no further.
Manjusha Dangeti, 21, from Pune, is conducting a four-hour food photography workshop for 20 people. Dangeti says, " Commercial photography is no longer restricted just to weddings. With the boom in e-commerce, there is a huge demand for food photography as well." Originally from Visakhapatnam, she went to Pune for under-graduation and studied at the Symbiosis Institute of Photography, specializing in food and jewellery photography. After graduating from the institute in 2017, she has been freelancing since then. She says, “The initial months were difficult, but now I have photo-shoots atleast for five days a week.”
Dangeti's passion for photography comes from her grandfather, late Ambu Rao, who is one of the most well-known portrait photographers from the city.She recalls, “Thanks to thatha , I had access to all types of cameras at a young age. Each weekend, my father, brother and I would go to the beach to click pictures with him.” The workshop is divided into three parts — technique, practical and networking. The first segment will focus on framing and lighting; followed by a session where multiple photographers will be asked to take pictures of one subject. “This exercise will give the participants an insight to the challenges faced in real-time.”
The workshop shall end with tips on how to build your clients.
One person will be awarded a prop-kit which can be used to add extra aesthetic touch to their pictures. The registration fee for the workshop is ₹1000 .
