Rubbing shoulders with the likes of Paul Walker and Kurt Russell while filming ‘Fast & Furious 7’ was a huge deal for Bollywood actor Ali Fazal, who has grown up watching the action franchise.

The 27-year-old actor has a cameo in the 7th instalment of the ‘Fast and Furious’ series, and he said he will always cherish the time he got to spent with the cast — especially Walker, who was killed in an accident in November last year.

“I am done shooting for the film. I had shot last year when Paul Walker was around and then finally wrapped up shooting two months ago. It is a guest appearance, so I would not like to make a huge cry about it,” Fazal told PTI .

“I have grown up watching the franchise so it was a huge deal for me. Being on the set with the director James Wan (’Insidious’ and ‘The Conjuring’), Ludacris, Kurt Russell, Paul Walker. It was nice to get to just know what they are really like,” he said.

Fazal revealed that he had sent his audition video for the film in an extremely unfortunate situation and was sure he would not get the role, as his interpretation of the scene was a far cry from what it originally was.

“I had taken a break and was in Mussoorie. It was then that I got a call from my agent, who informed me about the audition and asked me to send a video. But my interpretation of the scene was the total opposite of what the 800 other people had done. But I was stuck in the hill station and it was snowing heavily. I could do nothing but improvise with my costumes and everything,” Fazal said.

The actor has had past experience working in western projects. He had a small role in the Ashok Amritraj—produced ‘The Other End of The Line’ and was also part of American TV miniseries ‘Bollywood Hero’. He recently turned down a role in popular series, ‘Homeland’.

When asked how he manages to get his hands on such projects, Fazal said, “I know someone who is a big agent there. She knows a lot of people from Hollywood. So it is through her that I get to know about the auditions.”

Fazal, whose latest film ‘Bobby Jasoos’ opposite Vidya Balan hits theatres on Friday, says he does not mind being part of Hollywood ventures but is more keen to find his place in Bollywood.

“I am open to doing more Hollywood projects, but my prime focus is Bollywood. I love working here more … I think I fit here more than in Hollywood,” he said.
