After bagging the theatrical rights for actor Rajinikanth’s Lingaa , Eros International has announced it will release actor Kamal Haasan’s much-awaited film, Uttama Villain , on April 2.
Eros International recently signed an agreement with the film’s producer Thirrupathi Brothers Media Pvt. Ltd. to release two of its movies through Eros’ extensive distribution channels.
According to the agreement, Eros International will also distribute Sivakarthikeyan’s Rajini Murugan , expected to release during the summer holidays.
Apart from featuring Kamal in the role of a popular film star, Uttama Villain will also mark the final film of his late mentor and filmmaker K. Balachander, who plays an important part in the film.
Post Uttama Villain , the actor’s other two films — Papanasam, remake of Mohanlal’s Drishyam , and Vishwaroopam sequel – are likely to release, in that order.
Kamal has written the story and screenplay for Uttama Villain , apart from starring in it. The film is directed by actor Ramesh Aravind.
