• Actor-director Vishwak Sen is confident that ardent film lovers who’ve watched Angamaly Diaries on digital streaming platforms will also appreciate Falaknuma Das. “The character arcs and a few plot points are different from the Malayalam original. We shot the film in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, and the dialogues will have a Telangana flavour. My aim was to make the film engaging enough for repeat viewing. The response to the test screening was terrific, and I’m hoping the audience will like the film too,” he says.
  • The team filmed in Sharjipet village of Nalgonda district, the birthplace of Chintakindi Mallesham, and handlooms towns Sircilla and Pochampally. The native Sufi festival ‘Peerla panduga’ finds a mention in the film. Says Priyadarshi, “The festival is intrinsic to the region. The drums used for the music and the clothes are all different from the rest of the State.” The Mallesham unit roped in people from the region to play smaller characters. The actors took the help of writer Peddinti Ashok Kumar for the dialect.
