Greta Gerwig’s Barbie picked up six awards including Movie of the Year at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards. By contrast, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, a front-runner for the Oscars, won a single award for best Drama Movie of the year.
The 2024 People’s Choice Awards was hosted by Simu Liu and disbursed awards in 45 categories across pop culture. Following its resurgence on Netflix, Grey’s Anatomy was voted TV show of the year. Pop icon Taylor Swift received six awards including The Female Artist of the Year and The Social Celebrity of the Year. Hollywood mainstay Adam Sandler was conferred the People’s Icon Award.
