Megha Akash: Sun shines on her

Megha Akash

Miss Sunshine number has been aptly written for Megha Akash; the debutante actor in Hanu Raghavapudi’s film Lie that hits the screens on August 11. There’s a certain charm and vibrancy in her, that she’s bound to win fans over. The actor who hails from Chennai, says, “I was always interested in cinema and right from childhood I was interested in acting. I did my graduation in visual communication and interned in an agency and enjoyed the stint. My dad and mom are into advertising — my mom is an ad film director and dad works in an advertising agency. If not acting, I would perhaps be in the same line,” says Megha. She clearly seems to be enjoying the acting stint though. “I enjoyed the entire process of acting while I was doing my debut Tamil film Oru Pakka Kathai with Kalidas Jayaram.”Her second film Enai Noki Paayum Thota, written and directed by Gautam Menon has been on the sets for quite long. Ask her the reason and she quips, “Must be some production issues, don’t know the actual reason..”

On her Telugu debut movie, she says, “This is an interesting script; I liked everything about it. I play a young fun-loving character’s name is Chaitra. Director Hanu Raghavapudi and co-star Nithiin were amazing and helpful. I am not too fluent in Telugu though my dad is a Telugu man. I was a bit worried about whether I could pull it off but my director gave me confidence to do a Telugu film and helped me. Now I am quite confident in the language.”

Comparing her real life persona to that of her character, Megha says, “I am a very mellow person, I don’t talk much and I am super quite. My character in the film is full of life. A theatre group here conducted an acting workshop for me and my co-star; that’s the only training I got as an acter . Gautam sir would ask me to do it my wayand because that character is more like me, it was easier. Hanu helped me rehearse in the beginning and he would translate the meanings for me.”

Even before any of her films released, Megha is being spoken about for her looks and talent. She has already bagged two films in the South and is being offered many more.

“I am doing one more film with Nithiin, which will be directed by Krishna Chaitanya,” she shares.
