Director Kumaar, whose first film was Flop, is ready with his next, Chemistry of Kariyappa . The film, which has been creating ripples online with its songs and hilarious teasers, seems to be a comedy. Kumaar agrees saying, “The film will be humorous and is loaded with situational comedy. I believe people come to theatres to watch a film that makes them forget their problems and enjoy the few hours with the characters on screen. Hence, we came up with Chemistry of Kariyappa , which will make you laugh out loud.”

Kumaar, who has written the story, screen play and directed the film, assures us that the humour in the film will not have double meaning dialogues or vulgarity. “It will be a film that the entire family can watch; a total entertainer.”

The story, he explains, is about a father-son relationship. How a man, who lives for his family, will do anything to protect his son and nurture him and his happiness. The film stars Tabla Nani, Apoorva and Chandan Acharya (from Kirik Party fame).

“I chose these actors as I wanted the film to have a very realistic look. Tabla Nani is known for his timing in humour. In fact, I wrote the script keeping him and Apoorva in mind. Later on, I brought in Chandan to play the lead as I felt he suited the character. He even has the body language that goes perfectly with the character he portrays,” shares Kumaar.

The director says the film will not have glamorous scenes nor “do the songs take you to Switzerland. The story is picturised in such a manner that anyone can relate to the characters. In fact, the story is based on a true life incident that happened in Mandya four years ago. That inspired me to make Chemistry of Kariyappa.

Kumaar has been in the industry for 12 years and has worked as AD with the best of directors in television and films besides writing scripts for many.

The film will be released on February 15 and Kumaar is keeping his fingers crossed. “I am confident the film will click as people will not see actors or characters on screen, but people we normally see in our daily life or our neighbourhood.”
