Vaibhav open to playing negative roles

Vaibhav’s role as Maruthupandi in Venkat Prabhu’s Chennai 600028 II: Second Innings was well received and the actor is keen to act in more such roles. “My association with director Venkat Prabhu has given me an identity in the Tamil film industry. Characters like Ramarajan, Sumanth and Maruthupandi in his movies have been welcomed by the audience and my presence as a solo hero in Kappal too enhanced my reputation as a commercial actor,” says Vaibhav, who debuted as Ram Babu in Venkat’s Saroja . Vaibhav says he is open to playing any type of role, including negative characters, as long as it gives him satisfaction as an actor.

Murder,he wrote

Burma and Jackson Durai director Dharanidharan’s new film Raja Ranguski has already attracted a lot of attention for its unique title . “Pooja Devariya essays the lead role of a writer in this murder mystery, and is paired with Shirish (of Metro fame). I am excited that director Gautham Vasudev Menon found the title unique, and Tweeted that the genre of my film is along the lines of his own crime thrillers. I am thrilled to team up with Yuvan Shankar Raja as he excels in giving the appropriate background score to enhance the ‘thrill’ factor of Raja Ranguski ,” says Dharanidharan.

When Sathya met Pooja

Debutant director Sathya’s Ennodu Nee Irundhaal is about a young boy named Kishore (played by Sathya himself) who comes to Chennai to find a job. He falls in love with a millionaire’s daughter Pooja (Manasa Nair) here but she disappears one day. Kishore then goes about searching for her, overcoming obstacles that test his love for her. “This romantic thriller is an intense love story. The film has a social message for all parents,” says Sathya.
