What do you do when your better-half is in a coma and on life-support? What sort of decision do you make? How long do you wait? That is the sticky question the film Waiting looks like it is handling.

The trailer of the highly-anticipated Naseeruddin Shah-Kalki Koechlin starrer was released on Friday.

The two-minute trailer shows two couples – Naseeruddin Shah and Suhasini Mani Ratnam, and Kalki Koechlin and Arjun Mathur in their happy space before tragedy strikes.

Shah and Koechlin form a special bond as they befriend each other unexpectedly in a hospital while nursing their respective spouses in coma.

The trailer seems light and funny, finding heartwarming moments in the middle of sadness. It balances the initial helplessness of Koechlin’s character with the more experienced Shah’s character, who seems to have been doing the hospital run for quite some time.

Directed by Anu Menon, and produced by Ishka Films and Drishyam Films, Waiting is set to release on May 27.

Besides Shah and Koechlin, the film that premiered at the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), also features Rajat Kapoor and marks the debut of actor Suhasini Maniratnam in Hindi cinema.
