Fans of TV show Game of Thrones know only too well that the survival rate of anyone on the show is always close to zero. No one is safe, including us. In case you forgot, Season Five ended with nearly six deaths – Stannis Baratheon, Seylse Baratheon, Myranda, Meryn Trant, Myrcella Baratheon/Lannister and Jon Snow (that’s why we said nearly).
Regardless of that, Season Six will surely see some names knocked off. We asked our readers to vote on who they think will die this season and here’s what they feel:
As expected, there was an element of ‘who would you like to see dead’. Yep, we’re looking at you Ramsay! At a whopping 14 per cent, fans think (and/or want) Ramsay Bolton is surely pegged for death this season. Right now, he has overtaken Joffrey Baratheon as the most-hated character on the show (a feat in itself) after the treatment meted out to Sansa Stark and Theon Greyjoy. And we know how long Joffrey lasted.
Following Ramsay is Queen Regent Cersei Lannister. If the trailers are anything to go by, we know she is furious and is all too glad to begin a bloodbath at King’s Landing after her walk of shame. But the High Sparrow, and his brotherhood, is not someone you mess with and one can only guess what awaits Cersei.
At 13 per cent, a surprising contender for whom winter is fast approaching is Jaime Lannister. Although we received many responses as to why he would die this season, the one that seemed to make most sense was “Everyone is starting to like him. If you like someone, they die. That’s how it works.” Couldn’t agree more!
But it seems like the Lannisters have not really paid their debts. Following his siblings is Tyrion Lannister who is also an early candidate, according to 10 per cent of our readers’ votes. Tyrion is currently at Mereen, and while a possible coup or invasion seems likely to kill him, our readers think he is getting way too close to the dragons and is surely going to meet a fire death.
Which brings us to the Mother of Dragons. Stranded by Drogon, Daenarys Targareyn has been captured by the Dothraki and is likely to meet her death, according to 5 per cent of our fans.
