Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam treasurer M.K. Stalin on Monday demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged money distribution in Aravakurichi and Thanjavur constituencies where the election have been postponed. Mr. Stalin alleged that a senior minister including Chief Minister Jayalalithaa were involved in the irregularities.
Talking to reporters after casting his vote in the SIET college, Mr. Stalin said the Election Commission should have acted well in advance instead of taking action in the last minute.
To a question he alleged money was distributed in all the 234 constituencies in the state and the Election Commission had taken action only in two constituencies, that also after the opposition exerted pressure.
"It must investigate money transfer in all places because only a proper investigation will bring out the truth," he said.
Mr. Stalin said the DMK alliance would secure a big victory in the election as wished by the people of Tamil Nadu. "There is a wave against the AIADMK and it is working in favour of the DMK alliance," he said, adding his alliance would win all the 234 constituencies.
"Even if the ruling party indulges in any irregularities, people are clear that the AIADMK should not be given a chance to rule the state," he said.
