M.P. CEO submits report to EC

The BJP’s Bhopal candidate had termed Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin Nathuram Godse a patriot

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer on Friday submitted a report to the Election Commission on the statement of BJP’s Bhopal candidate Pragya Singh Thakur, who termed Nathuram Godse a deshbhakt (patriot).

State election officials have forwarded a report to the EC in this regard, CEO V.L. Kanthrao said.

Earlier in the day, the District Election Officer of Agar Malwa submitted his report to the CEO on the issue. The poll panel had taken cognisance of Ms. Thakur’s remarks after a host of political parties condemned her statement.
