It is a miniature version of what is envisaged as a model polling station that strictly adheres to the green protocol being observed for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the State.

The ‘model polling station’ temporarily set up on the Collectorate premises here on Wednesday follows the rules to ensure compliance with the green protocol that prohibits use of plastic materials.

Self-explanatory

The model polling station is self-explanatory as regards facilities to be had in the polling station and rules to be followed for the conduct of polling without violating the green protocol.

District Collector Mir Mohammed Ali inaugurated the model polling station set up jointly by the District Shuchitwa Mission and the Haritha Keralam Mission in association with the district administration.

Also arranged at the model station were the models of the electronic voting machine and voter verified paper audit trail machine. The model facility is decked with messages highlighting the importance of casting votes and of observing the green protocol.
