The BJP finally gave the party ticket for Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituency to a new face Tejaswi Surya and not Tejaswini Ananth Kumar.

Ms. Tejaswini, the wife of former Union minister Ananth Kumar who represented the constituency six times, was expected to be the party’s candidate but lost out to the youth leader. Earlier in the day, she tweeted that she would abide by the decision of the party's central leadership indicating she was not the candidate. Her supporters held protests in front of Kumar's residence against the party's decision on Monday night.

Meanwhile, BJP has picked party spokesperson Ashwathnarayan as its candidate for Bengaluru Rural seat. C.P. Yogeshwar’s daughter Nisha was expected to get the ticket from the seat.

With this, BJP has refused tickets to family members of its leaders in both constituencies.
