College days are meant to be fun and filled with memories. But for those studying away from their homes, where they stay also plays a key role in shaping their experience. Today, students have myriad options — from hostels, paying guest accommodations, and room sharing. A new option on the rise is premium housing like what Tribe offers.

“Tribe is India’s first luxury accommodation brand, it is an idea and facility that can change the way Indian students live out of their homes, in other cities,” says Yogesh Mehra, Founder and CEO, Tribe Student Accomodation. Along with Shantam Mehra, he set up this enterprise after extensive research and analysis of the exact pain points of the student living experience.

The accommodation provides secure, hygienic and well-designed student housing, to improve the quality of students’ life and provide maximum convenience. “From single occupancy or twin sharing rooms, an in-house 24-hour cafe, common areas, CCTVs to gyms, and keyless and cashless living...we have seen students wanting to experience all of this,” he adds.

Tribe is unique because it offers facilities and high quality in a niche segment of hospitality, that no one associates the term “luxury” with.

Yogesh Mehra throws more light.

Suitability:

Considering that the student is moving out of his/her home for the first time, at age 17/18, and not all are equipped to manage a home on their own. These fully serviced or professionally-managed student accommodation facilities cater to them.

Availability:

We are completely operational in Pune, and our first batch of students have started to move in. Our Mumbai property is getting its final touches and will be operational from the first week of July. Meanwhile, our Bengaluru interiors are in process and those will be ready to move in by September/October.

Charges:

The charges will vary from not only city to city but also different areas in the same city. The per-month charges for single, luxury twin, and normal twin accommodations are: ₹31,500, ₹26,500 and ₹21,500 respectively in Pune; ₹60,000, ₹52,000 and ₹45,000 respectively in Mumbai. This includes breakfast, dinner, Wi-Fi, a full month’s laundry, electricity bill (limited use), housekeeping, linen change, gym and common areas facility management.

Future course:

As far as students are concerned, this is only the beginning of a changing norm and soon, paying guest accommodations will become passé. With students looking online for accommodation, Tribe has a major edge as the clientèle who want to live the uber-life during their student years, will not get a better experience anywhere else. Having created Tribe’s first venue in Pune, the company will soon move to several other university towns and cities such as Indore, Delhi NCR, and Chennai.
