AICET exam in April

The Directorate General of Training (DGT) under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship offers a range of Vocational Training courses catering to the need of different sectors of economy. Online applications are invited from candidates who are interested in appearing for the All India Common Entrance Test (AICET) for the Advanced Diploma Course. The exam will be held on April 28. Ekya School begins PAL initiative

Ekya School, BTM Layout, Bengaluru, has encouraged students to start the PAL (Passionate Animal Lovers) initiative as a part of their Service Learning Programme. Through this programme, they have planned to passively adopt a few species in the Bannerghatta Biological Park. This will cover feed, maintenance and veterinary healthcare expenses.

Swarnotsav celebrated

Swarrnim Startup and Innovation University celebrated Swarnotsav on its fifth Foundation Day. It felicitated 20 women achievers with ‘Women excellence award 2022’, launched the Swarrnkaari initiative to support local artisans, empower the rural women and to provide practical exposure to the Swarrnim design students. The evening was filled with cultural events and students were awarded for their outstanding performances in academics, cultural and sports activities.

AICTE’s FDP portal launched

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics & IT, Skill Development and recently launched AICTE’s Training and Learning Academy (ATAL Academy) portal for redesigned Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) for the session 2022-23 and Bharat Tech Foundation.

Product Management course

Invact Metaversity has introduced an integrated product management course for aspiring product managers. The course will be curated and delivered by Industry veteran Anshumani Ruddra and will have industry titans from product companies such as CRED, Google, WhatsApp, Uber and PayTM among others delivering guest lectures or conducting interactions and mentoring learners.

Winners of Uber HackTag2.0 announced

Uber Technologies announced the winners of the Uber HackTag 2.0 today, for creating the next big innovation prototype that will reimagine the way the world moves for the better. Executed in partnership with Dare2Compete, over 34k Engineering student innovators and builders from across India participated. The first prize went to team Xsparks, from KIET Group of Institutions (KIET), Ghaziabad; the second to team YellowPlatedCoders from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), ISM, Dhanbad; and the third to team CodeLite, from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences (BITS), Pilani, Hyderabad Campus.

SLPS receives recognition

Silverline Prestige School, Ghaziabad has been granted the Google Reference School recognition. This global programme identifies best practices in the use of modern tools and technologies that can be scaled and replicated in other schools.

At LPU

Lovely Professional University celebrated its annual One India’ fest-2022 at the campus. This year the theme was Tribal Cultural Heritage Walk.

More than 25 students of LPU’s School of Education have successfully cracked the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET).

SEVA Jatre conducted

The TA Pai Management Institute, MAHE, successfully conducted the annual sustainability fair SEVA Jatre. The SEVA team and students worked with about 30 clients who range from non-governmental organisations, government bodies, small entrepreneurs and businesses and start-ups to understand sustainability problems and solve them to the best of their ability. SEVA Jatre ended with a YouTube live-streaming of the SEVA Awards ceremony and the announcement of the winning groups.

M3M Foundation launches new intiative

M3M Foundation today launched its flagship Lakshya- Udaan Hauslon Ki programme to support talented youngsters in the field of arts and sports. The athletes were felicitated in the presence of sportstars and other dignitaries.

EU India Education Summit

The Council of EU Chambers of Commerce in India hosted the EU India Education Summit 2022 to discuss “Collaborations and Strategic Partnerships” and understand the growing opportunities for Indian students in Europe. The summit aimed to foster a long-term sustainable partnership with academia, research organisations, industry and government representatives from Europe and India.

Saveetha School of Management hosts Pride

Saveetha School of Management, a constituent college of Saveetha University, conducted its inter-college event Pride recently. The progammes were categorised into managerial and cultural categories and students from various colleges showcased their talents. More than a thousand students registered for this year's event.

Research on teacher development

OrangeSlates released a report on the current state of teacher development in the country. Over 200 educators participated. Almost 50% feel they don’t have adequate resources in terms of time or money to up-skill themselves. The report also revealed that about 67.8% now prefer the hybrid teaching format, while 28.2% prefer a complete online experience.

At Noida International University

Prof Uma Bharadwaj, VS, Noida International University (NIU), has been awarded India’s Most Impactful Vice-Chancellor 2021-2022 by Daily Indian Media during the EDUSTAR Leadership Awards 2022.

The university’s School of Law and Legal Affairs in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority organised a day-long legal aid camp in order to spread awareness among the people of Murshadpur Village, Greater Noida. Students and the faculty members reached out to the villagers through foot rallies and door-to-door surveys and provided legal guidance and suggestions.

Jean Monnet Clair Chair at SLS Pune

Symbiosis Law School, Pune, has been bestowed with the prestigious Jean Monnet Chair on EU Climate Justice Law, Governance, Management and Policy (EUC-LAMP) under the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. Prof. Shashikala Gurpur, Fulbright Scholar, Director, Symbiosis Law School, Pune, Dean, Faculty of Law, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), will be the Jean Monnet Chair.

Dhurina launches spoken English course

Dhurina has launched spoken English courses for the rural markets. This 25-day course will include pronunciation, sentence structure, articles, verbs, tense and also a basic manners and etiquette programme. Not only will this help learners communicate but also increase employment opportunities.

MoUs signed

Unacademy has signed an MoU with the Backward Classes Welfare Department (BCWD), Govt. of Telangana to identify and empower meritorious students from the state to prepare for competitive exams with scholarships. Under this, 4500 aspirants will receive a one-year Unacademy Plus subscription for a competitive exam.

The platform has also signed an MoU with Delhi Police to empower the children of personnel and offer them scholarships to prepare for and crack competitive exams. Unacademy will also conduct a series of career guidance sessions at Delhi Police Public Schools to sensitise students on emerging career opportunities.

Zeon Lifesciences signed an MoU with Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research University (DPSRU) to establish collaboration for academic interaction and research advancement in the specified fields, as well as to share facilities and expertise.

Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh signed an MoU with Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), to explore numerous opportunities of collaborations towards Research and Academic excellence.

International Skill Development Corporation recently signed an MoU with Kristu Jayanti College, Bengaluru. Under this, ISDC’s Access Global Exposure programme will help students find opportunities of progression into 40+ universities across the world through credit exchange programmes. Students and faculty will also benefit from exchange programmes and FDPs.

Tapas hosts Varsik Utsav

Project-based learning school Tapas organised Varshik Utsav for its students. The child-led event was a culmination of the fun and learning through the year and lauded the development of the learners.

IDP hosts Australia Admission Day

IDP conducted Australia Admission Day, in which aspirants directly interacted with their desired Australian institutions and discussed their queries. Over 700 students attended the event. Along with the representative and experts of top Australian institutions, eminent dignitaries who attended included Monica Kennedy, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, Austrade.

QS World University Rankings

Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) of O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) has been ranked 70 globally in the QS World University Rankings by Subject (Law) for 2022. It has jumped six places from 2021. The 2022 QS World University Rankings by Subject ranked a total of 340 law schools after evaluating 1,118 institutions.

EHL Hospitality Business School (founded in 1893 as Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne) has been ranked as the world’s leading institution in hospitality management education for the fourth consecutive year.

Waipapa Taumata Rau the University of Auckland has been ranked in the Top 50 for 12 subjects. It is in the Top 100 in a further 10 subjects and ranks in 44 of the 51 discipline-specific subject tables.

The University of Sheffield’s Information School has been ranked number one for Library and Information Management. In addition, the university's Architecture/Built Environment subject area and Geography have been ranked in the top 50 globally.

Research at University of Otago

Researchers from the University of Otago have developed a new method of obtaining ancient genomic data without damaging source material, creating new opportunities for museum and archaeological collections worldwide. The research, published in the international journal Molecular Ecology, presents a new method of obtaining genomic data from small vertebrate remains that causes no visible damage to the underlying bone.

Prepare for RBI Grade B exams

ixamBee launched XtremeBee, a hybrid programme which aims to prepare aspirants for the RBI Grade B exam. The Online Module has been curated as per the latest exam pattern and the course features 700+ video lessons, 340+ study notes, FM, ESI, and descriptive English mock tests, live doubt solving, interview guidance, personalized study plan, anytime mentor access, and one on one access.

Awareness programmes

IMS Ghaziabad inaugurated its flagship Global Talk Series on “Strategic Management” with a lecture by Ashish Patel, Managing Director, CIO Advisory, Morgan Franklin, Washington, the U.S. The series aims to make students aware of the current trends of the global market.

Amity School of Engineering & Technology (ASET), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida, organised "Fireside Chat" for the students of B. Tech, BCA and MCA. Officials from CISCO, the American technology conglomerate, briefed them about hiring, internship, application and job opportunities.

At Sanskriti

Sanskriti University has filed 1,155 patents of which 702 patents were filed in 2021-22. A dedicated team of biologists, engineers, IP professionals are actively involved in filing patent applications on behalf of the university at the Indian Patent Office, Indian Copyright Office, Indian Industrial Design Office, and Indian Trademark Office.

The School of Education organized The Teaching Aids Fair. More than 100 teaching aids related with science, maths, environmental science, art and craft, and language were displayed.

The university organised a seminar on Shifting the Energy. The keynote speaker was Life Coach Martin Hausner.

In association with Council of Industrial Innovation and Research (CIIR), the institution organised a virtual international conference on ‘Machine Learning and Blockchain Technologies’. Prof. K. K. Aggarwal, Chairman, National Board of Accreditation, was the Chief Guest and Dr. Anand Nayyar from Duy Tang University, Vietnam, Dr Sanjay Misra from Covenant University, Nigeria, were the key speakers.
