WWI entrance exams

WWI recently announced the dates for the April round of entrance exams for its July 2022 intake. Aspirants can apply for various full-time degree, postgraduate, and diploma programmes offered by the WWI Schools of Filmmaking, Creative Arts, Media Management, and Performing Arts. IIT Madras opened admissions to its BSc in Programming and Data Science programme to students of class 11 and 12. GITAM hosts lecture

The Department of Mechanical Engineering, GITAM Institute of Technology, GITAM (Deemed to be University), association with CMSI, recently hosted the ninth Dr. V. Bhujanga Rao Endowment lecture. Several industry experts were present. 

Prof G.C. Tripathi visits Sanskriti 

Prof. Girish Chandra Tripathi of the Uttar Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (UPSCHE) recently visited Sanskriti University and discussed the quality of education with the Vice-Chancellor, teachers, and students of the university, and also offered measurable steps to improve the teaching methodology. 

Partnerships and collaborations

Manav Rachna University recently signed an MoU with the International Skill Development Corporation to offer a three-year BBA-Business Analytics programme accredited by IoA. The programme focuses on providing students with necessary skills and knowledge across various analytics related disciplines.

Vitesco and IIT-M signed a new MoU to work in the Automotive Software domain. This project plays a crucial role in the powertrain domain controller and the number of lines of code inside a typical master controller will triple by 2025.

IIT Kanpur recently transferred a bone regeneration technology to Ortho Regenics Pvt Ltd. Titled Nano-Hydroxyapatite based porous polymer composite scaffolds for bioactive molecule delivery in musculoskeletal regeneration, the technology was developed by Prof. Ashok Kumar and Arun Kumar Teotia from the Department of Biological Sciences and Bioengineering at IIT Kanpur.

BYJU’S and QIA recently launched a new edtech business and research and development centre in Doha, which will drive research and innovation to create cutting-edge learning solutions customised for students in the MENA region.

The Indian Social Science Academy, in association with B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology (Deemed-to-be-University), recently held the 45th Indian Social Science Congress, themed Environment, Energy and Health. Course on 3D Printing in Medicine

News from the IITs

IIT Mandi recently organised a three-day workshop on Indian Knowledge System (IKS) and Mental Health, in partnership with IIT Mandi iHub and HCI Foundation. It aimed to provide insights on empirical research pertaining to the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) and mental health.

IIT Guwahati is developing ‘Speech Technologies for North Eastern Languages’ to develop Speech Technology Tools for Healthcare Information Dissemination. The interdisciplinary team comprises Prof. Rohit Sinha, Prof. Priyankoo Sarmah, Sanasam Ranbir Singh and Ashish Anand from CLST, IIT Guwahati. The IIT Guwahati team will work with research teams from CDAC-Kolkata, IIIT Sri City, and NIT Manipur.

IIT Kanpur recently hosted the 28th edition of its annual fest, Techkriti’22, which offered a platform for the great minds to discuss and explore various crucial aspects of business development, start-up and entrepreneurial eco-system, and ever-evolving technologies.

Future of Apprenticeship in India

TeamLease EdTech recently launched its report Future of Apprenticeship in India, an analysis on the evolving degree apprenticeship ecosystem in India. The study indicates that 92% of universities and HEIs believe that degree apprenticeships equip students better to meet the demands of the evolving workforce than regular degrees.
