Gayle, Samuels to be part of Windies ODI squad against England

Next month’s ODI series between England and West Indies will see Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels return to the Windies squad for the first time after more than a year.

While Gayle has been out of the team since the 2015 World Cup, Samuels too has been absent for a year due to their disputes with the West Indies board.

Rooney’s 200th gives Everton 1-1 draw away at City

Wayne Rooney became only the second person after Alan Shearer to score 200 goals in the Premier League (1992 onwards) as he put Everton ahead in their away tie against Manchester City.

City salvaged a point from the game thanks to substitute Raheem Sterling’s late equaliser.

Zhang defeats Kvitova at Connecticut

Shuai Zhang of China ended Petra Kvitova’s final tune-up event ahead of the U.S. Open with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the Connecticut Open. In other games, wild-card entry Eugenie Bouchard and top-seed Agnieszka Radwanska made it through to the next round and will be facing each other.
