Next month’s ODI series between England and West Indies will see Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels return to the Windies squad for the first time after more than a year.

Wayne Rooney became only the second person after Alan Shearer to score 200 goals in the Premier League (1992 onwards) as he put Everton ahead in their away tie against Manchester City.

City salvaged a point from the game thanks to substitute Raheem Sterling’s late equaliser.

Shuai Zhang of China ended Petra Kvitova’s final tune-up event ahead of the U.S. Open with a 6-2, 6-1 win at the Connecticut Open. In other games, wild-card entry Eugenie Bouchard and top-seed Agnieszka Radwanska made it through to the next round and will be facing each other.
