Reports suggest that NBA Finals Most Valuable Player Kevin Durant will be staying with the champions Golden State Warriors, even if it means taking a cut to his salary in order to retain the same roster.

Ronaldo to leave Real Madrid?
The rumour mills are on full swing and the biggest news seems to be about none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. For the past week – ever since Ronaldo was accused of tax evasion – there have been suggestions that he might be leaving Real Madrid. Club president Florentino Perez, recently re-elected, however, wants to have none of it as he made it clear that their side has not received any offers for Ronaldo.
Germany defeat Australia 3-2 in Confederations Cup
A young German side missing an array of big stars were still too good for the Australians as the world champions trumped the Socceroos 3-2 on Monday.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino, meanwhile, threw his weight behind the use of video assistant referees (VAR) – being used in the Confederations Cup – and calls it as the future of football, despite the confusion associated with it on the five occasions when it has so far been used in the tournament.
