France captain Amandine Henry scored the winner in the 107th minute after the game went into extra time following goals from Valerie Gauvin and Brazil’s Thaisa. The 2-1 win sends the hosts to the quarter-finals of the Women’s World Cup.

Argentina through to Copa quarters

Goals from Lautaro Martinez and Sergio Aguero gave Argentina a 2-0 win over Qatar that enabled them to progress to the last-eight stage of the Copa America, following a loss and a draw in their first two group games.

Colombia finished top of the group after they claimed all nine points without conceding a single goal in all three of their matches.
