A spy, an ace fighter pilot, a chocolate historian and a medical inventor. Is it possible for a single person to be all of these? Well, there was one such person — the incredible Roald Dahl.
But, most people know him for something else. Take a guess? Yes, for being a charismatic author to many works of fiction.
Roald Dahl put pen to paper and created some of the most fascinating characters and stories ever. He had the wonderful ability to transport us into a world where anything you imagined was possible — from rivers that flow with pure chocolate to giant fruits big enough to live in. However, his stories are more than just stories, they often have a bigger meaning to it. Let’s take a look at a few classics that go beyond the story.
The BFG
Friends can come in any size or shape. They need not be like you... Also, never underestimate yourself for you can be strong on your own too.
The Twits
Whatever you do, don’t surround yourself with negative people. Why? Because the chances of becoming one yourself is high. So, find radiant, happy and positive people and hang out with them. This way you spread positivity too.
Matilda
Reading is not just a powerful tool, it lets us know that its okay to be different, unique and extraordinary, and to believe in ourselves. Matilda treats people with kindness and respect, and realises the importance of standing up for what we believe in.
James and the Giant Peach
Friendship can be found in the most unlikeliest of places — even in your own backyard. James made friends with an odd seeming bunch, but beyond their appearances, they were all the same: intelligent, funny, loving, adventurous beings who shared the same desire for company.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Never lose your imagination, for, it's the single most valuable and original thing you have. Also, be grateful for what you have.
Look at Charlie Bucket. He was surrounded by children who had much more than him, yet, he felt blessed because he had a loving family and warm clothes. So what’s important is to treasure what truly matters, instead of being greedy.
