Salem-based Tamil Nadu Grama Bank (TNGB), a regional rural bank, has migrated to core banking solution — BaNCS.

TNGB came into existence after the amalgamation of erstwhile regional rural banks — Pallavan Grama Bank and Pandyan Grama Bank — from April 1, 2019.

“The migration to new technology platform was done in a record time of six months from the date of amalgamation, though the two banks operated under different technical platforms,” said Padmaja Chunduru, MD and CEO, Indian Bank, the sponsor bank of TNGB.

“With the migration, banking services are now seamlessly available to all 65 lakh customers on a single technology platform. BANCS is an easy banking platform for both customers and staff members,” she said.

Earlier, both these banks were using different technology platforms. While Pallavan Grama Bank used BaNCS, Pandyan Grama Bank had deployed Crown, an in-house software.

TNGB informed that technology-based services such as net banking, mobile banking and IMPS would be available to customers shortly.
