The Indian Hotels Company Ltd. (Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces) on Saturday announced its decision to discontinue its management contract for The Gateway Hotel, Jodhpur and The Gateway Hotel, Ummed Ahmedabad citing no specific reason.

However, it said will continue managing these hotels as per previously agreed contractual terms until 9 May, 2016.

“The Taj remains fully committed to honouring all its contractual obligations to our stakeholders during this period,” said Rakhee Lalvani, Associate Vice President (Public Relations) Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces said in a statement.

As per Gateway Hotels’ website the Taj Group has a network of 28 Gateway Hotels across the country and what led to the exit or non-renewal of management contracts for two hotels remained unanswered by the company.

The Taj Group has plans to have a portfolio of 50 Gateway Hotels in the next few years.

Gateway Hotels are upscale hotels and are positioned a notch below the Taj Vivanta brand.
