January 15, 2018 10:02 pm | Updated 10:44 pm IST - Mumbai

Stocks built on gains to close at fresh life-time highs in their record-setting spree for a third straight session on Monday.

Buying in the banking, financial, metal and energy counters was triggered by better-than-expected macro data and corporate earnings. The BSE Sensex rose 0.73% to 34,843.51.

The broader Nifty gained 60.3 points to finish at a record high of 10,741.55. Domestic sentiment was upbeat on positive macro data and earnings posted by some blue-chip firms.
