The benchmark Sensex rallied 329 points during the morning session on Monday to touch a new intra-day record high of 42,273.87 though profit booking thereafter erased all the gains and the barometer dipped in the red as the day progressed.

Later in the day, blue-chip companies like ICICI Securities, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Hindustan Zinc, Federal Bank, Can Fin Homes, Bank of Maharashtra and Just Dial among others would declare earnings results.

Meanwhile, the broader Nifty gained nearly 80 points during the morning session to touch a high of 12,430.50 before dipping in the red.

At 11:35am, the Sensex was trading at 41,760.16, down 185.21 points. The Nifty was at 12,430.50, down 78.15 points or 0.63%. Stocks like Reliance Industries, TCS, Sun Pharmaceutical, HDFC Bank, Hero MotoCorp and Kotak Mahindra Bank were among the top losers in the Sensex pack.
