MakeMyTrip, Flipkart in pact to drive online bookings

MakeMyTrip Limited, and Flipkart, on Thursday announced a strategic partnership to drive online bookings in the travel segment.

MakeMyTrip’s multiple brands, including MakeMyTrip, Goibibo, and redBus, will leverage the large customer base of Flipkart platform to increase online bookings in travel services, according to a joint statement.

Initially, one can book domestic flights starting a couple of weeks and a person can also book hotels and bus tickets later.

"This partnership will help us reach out to an even wider customer base and further open up the online travel market in a significant way," said Deep Kaira, founder and group CEO of MakeMyTrip.
