India Inc. bullish about German partnership

Leaders of Indian business conglomerates, present at the Indo-German Summit, expressed optimism on the measures taken by both countries to grow bilateral trade. The Indian business leaders also participated in a special lunch hosted by the Prime Minister for German Chancellor Angela Merkel along with German business delegation.

Talking to media , A.M. Naik, Group Executive Chairman of L&T said, “The main purpose was to improve bilateral trade, improve politically relationship and in general to create environment of friendship and I think it was more than achieved.”

Earlier, speaking at the summit, Ms. Merkel had said that her country would seek partnership in mobility, infrastructure, IT, vocational training, among others, with Indian companies.

Asked about partnership with German firms on Infa projects, Mr. Naik said, “With Germans also we have emphasised there needs to be long term commitment to India’s economic development and that will happen only when long term money comes in Infra development.”
