MRF, on Tuesday, reported a 32 per cent higher income at Rs.10,670.17 crore for the year ended September 30, 2011, as against Rs. 8,109.58 crore in the previous year. The profit before taxation and exceptional items stood at Rs. 489.42 crore (Rs.534.66 crore). The profit after exceptional items stood at Rs. 893.65 crore. Exceptional item of Rs. 404.23 crore represents reversal of excess depreciation of earlier years due to change in the method of depreciation from the written down value to the straight line method. After making provision for tax, the net profit is Rs. 619.42 crore against Rs.353.98 crore.
The board recommended a final dividend of Rs. 19 a share. With the two interim dividends of Rs.3 each paid earlier, the aggregate dividend for the year is Rs. 25.
