Kobe Steel team visits Durgapur

A delegation from Kobe Steel, Japan visited Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP) and Alloy Steels Plant (ASP) of Steel Authority of India (SAIL) on September 19 and 20.

It may be mentioned that SAIL and Kobe Steel have signed an MoU for exploring the possibility of setting up a joint venture unit of five lakh tonnes per annum plant with ITmk3 technology for production of iron nuggets without using coking coal.

A DSP release said that the purpose of the visit was to foster better technical appreciation of steel plant operations. The delegation met senior officials of the plant and visited different units of DSP and ASP.

The Japanese team also made a presentation on various aspects of Kobe Steel.
