Business process outsourcing company Intelenet Global Services operates 34 global delivery centres across seven countries with over 32,000 employees. Its customer base of companies in the U.K., the U.S., India and elsewhere includes Barclays, State Bank of India, Travelport, BSNL and Aircel. It offers middle and back office services including transactional, process and voice support, finance and accounting services, and business transformation consulting.

The international BPO business primarily focusses on three verticals: banking, financial services and insurance; travel, hospitality and transport; and healthcare.

Founded in 2001 as a joint venture between TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) and HDFC, a management buy-out in 2007 resulted in it being majority owned by Blackstone Group with Barclays, HDFC and Intelenet's management team. Intelenet competes against other BPO providers like Aegis, EXL, Firstsource, Accenture, IBM, and Convergys.

Around three-quarters of its revenues are generated from international BPO and it has an order book of around 500 million pounds over the next five years. Revenues for 2010-11 of about 170 million pounds grew organically over the last three years at 12 per cent and adjusted operating profit was about 19 million pounds. Intelenet is expected to continue to achieve an organic revenue growth rate of 10-15 per cent.
