Titan watch stores will go up to 300 by next March

Watches and branded jewellery retailer, Titan Industries will take the number of stores under its watches business from 281 at present to 300 by March next year, a top company official said on Wednesday.

“Nineteen stores would be added by March next year,” Titan Industries COO (Watches) Harish Bhat, who inaugurated three stores here, told reporters.

The company currently has its 281 “World of Titan” stores across 123 cities.

Giving some statistics, Mr. Bhat said 35 per cent of the group’s turnover of Rs 3,500 crore came from its watches business. He also said the company was growing at a rate of 17 per cent every year.

Mr. Bhat was here to launch the “Raga Flora” collection of watches priced between Rs 1,750-Rs 8,000 along with a television commercial for the same.

Mr. Bhat said the company aimed to achieve a turnover of $1 billion in the current fiscal. For 2008—09, Titan Industries reported a turnover of Rs 3,847.72 crore.
