Sales and marketing company Multimedia Displays (MMD) on Wednesday announced launch of a wide range of new Philips LCD, LED monitors and monitor TVs in the Indian market. To begin with, the company has introduced four LCD and five LED computer monitors in various screen sizes priced between Rs.4,600 and Rs.9,500.
“With the India launch of these products, the next step in our endeavour is to position Philips as one of the leading brand in the PC display market…The Indian market is sophisticated and mature to appreciate high quality, good design and innovative technologies that Philips monitors deliver,” said Benjamin Wong, Managing Director, MMD Singapore.
MMD, a wholly-owned subsidiary of China-based electronic contract manufacturer TPV Technology, has a licence agreement with Philips to sell and market the latter’s range of display products, including LCD, LED Monitors and Monitor TVs in Asia Pacific Region.
According to MMD India Country Director Gautam Ghosh: “Philips brand is well known among customers. In India, we are revitalising the channel network and customise it at regional level to catch the preference of consumers in a particular region. Our product innovation is driven by market response, and we will be introducing with more products in the IT display space. Within a year, we will also have 5,000 sales outlets from 1,000 currently.”
