City-based education and placement company EdServ has announced that it has been awarded a vocational training provider (VTP) status for the southern region represented by Regional Directorate for Apprenticeship Training (RDAT) of Chennai and Hyderabad regions of Ministry of Labour, Government of India.
Consequently, EdServ will now work directly with the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, to spread and reach out to more regions to provide training to the unemployed and the under employed in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh.
“The VTP status is a significant milestone in our growth path as this gives us direct access to provide training, free of cost, to the downtrodden through the funding by the Ministry of Labour and Employment. We expect this to be a much bigger partnership. It will be a key driver for our growth in 2010-11. This is likely to drive larger volumes for the company over the next 12-18months,” a release quoted S. Giridharan, CEO, EdServ, as saying.
Through this VTP partnership, EdServ plans to spread and reach out to a wider market segment by further expanding its large partner centre network providing the much needed employable skills training for the downtrodden. The World Bank-funded vocational training improvement project of the Ministry of Labour, Government of India, has the objective of improving the employability skills of every such unemployed, under-employed and underserved section of society through VTPs by reimbursing training expenses after a successful assessment and certification of every candidate, says the release.
