Rubber output up 5% in June

Natural rubber production went up by nearly 5 per cent during June as compared to the same month last year. Production in June this year stood at 62,000 tonnes against 59,200 tonnes in the same month previous year, data released by the Rubber Board revealed.

However, production during April-June this year was 1.73 lakh tonnes against 1.76 lakh tonnes during the three months in 2011.

Consumption of natural rubber during June came down by 0.6 per cent to 82,500 tonnes from 83,000 tonnes in the year-ago month. However, consumption during April-June 2012 period went up by 1.1 per cent from 2.43 lakh tonnes to 2.46 lakh tonnes during the three months this year.
