About 30 operational creditors of Essar Steel with claims of over ₹600 crore have filed a joint petition in NCLT Ahmedabad, seeking payment of their dues.

The petitioners have prayed before NCLT seeking full payment or equitable payment as operational creditors at par with the financial creditors, according to a source.

The application has been filed by 27 operational creditors, including Ideal Movers Private Limited, Kamaljeet Ahluwalia, Arfin India Limited, Sakar Industries Private Limited and Apex Commodities, with total outstandings of ₹360.39 crore.

R.K. Logistics, another creditor with dues of ₹226 crore, plans to file a separate application.

Orissa Stevedores plea

Meanwhile, Orissa Stevedores, one of the operational creditors of Essar Steel with dues of ₹20.46 crore, has moved an interlocutory petition in the NCLT Ahmedabad seeking that the higher proposal submitted by Essar Steel’s promoters be accepted or alternatively, ArcelorMittal be asked to match Essar Steel’s promoters bid of ₹54,389 crore.

The application has been filed taking into consideration that the Committee of Creditors (CoC)has not considered the financial recovery of the operational creditors, said the petition.
