Odisha has identified 665 acres of land for Japanese companies who would set up manufacturing base in the State, a top official said.
R. Balakrishnan, Additional Chief Secretary, said: “We are in advance discussions with the Japanese industries who wish to invest in Odisha and we have developed state-of-the-art infrastructure for them to set up their establishments in the State .”
The Japanese companies would be keen to invest in food processing, steel and transportation sectors.
“We have identified 665 acres of land for the Japanese organisations to set up their business infrastructure just 20 km from Bhubaneswar,” he said.
Japanese Ambassador to India, Kenji Hiramatsu, said: “Many missions from Odisha have visited Japan and highlighted the opportunities which the State has to offer to the Japanese companies. We are looking forward to expand our partnership with Odisha and we can work on several sectors to boost a collaborative business effort.”
“Odisha can also assist Japan to fill up some gaps in certain industries such as seafood,” Mr. Hiramatsu added.
