Lava launches Pixel V2 smartphone


From September 15, 2015, the phone will be available online.

Lava International Ltd., a leading Indian mobile handset company, has launched Pixel V2, a smartphone that comes with superior photography features. The second product in the Pixel series, this smartphone is priced at Rs.10,399.

“It has been designed by our in-house research and development (R&D) team keeping the growing trend of smartphone photography in mind. At this price point, the Pixel V2 will compete with many Indian and MNC mobile phone manufacturers,” Navin Chawla, Senior Vice-President and Head Product, Lava International Ltd told The Hindu.

This phone is 4G enabled and will be available in Icy White and Royal Black colours across retail outlets and multi-brand outlets across India. From September 15, 2015, the phone will be available online. The phone features a 13 MP rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8 MP ‘selfi’ camera with LED flash. Lava has roped in fashion photographer Subi Samuel for this product.

“The smartphone segment in India is growing exponentially, driven primarily by the youth. With smartphone becoming an indispensable part of their lives, camera becomes so much more important. The youth today wants to capture social moments in their life and share them instantly in their social circle,” Mr. Chawla said.

In India, it sells both feature phones starting Rs.1,000 and smartphones priced up to Rs.13,000 to Rs.14,000.
