Kiran Mazumdar Shaw elected as a member of MIT

BENGALURU: Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, chairman and managing director of Biocon, has been elected as a full-term member of the U.S.-based MIT Corporation, or the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is among the eight full-term members who will each serve a term of five years starting July 1, 2018, according to a company statement. She holds key positions in various educational, government and industry positions, including a member of high-level expert committee of India’s Department of Biotechnology.
