Kinetic forays into superbikes business, unveils 7 products

Firm to sell bikes from 250 cc to 1000 cc

Motoroyale Kinetic Pvt. Ltd., a company which is into assembling and retailing multi-brand superbikes, has introduced seven new products of five global brands in the Indian market to capitalise on the growing demand for high-powered motorcycles in the country.

Currently, India has about 10,000 superbikes and this segment is growing 15% per annum, prompting global superbike companies to set up shop in the country. Motoroyale, a part of the Kinetic Group known for Luna and Kinetic Honda, plans to open showrooms in six cities in one month where superbikes of three Italian, one British and one South Korean companies would be retailed in the price range of ₹3 lakh to ₹60 lakh.

These superbikes are being made available in India through tie-ups with MV Agusta, Norton, SWM, FB Mondial and Hyosung.

Motorcycles would be assembled from imported CKD and SKD kits at the company’s plant in Ahmednagar where it has capacity to assemble 30,000 vehicles annually.

“Motoroyale is India’s only multi-brand superbikes company that offers a range of products starting from 250 cc to 1000 cc, covering different categories and genres,” said Ajinkya Firodia, managing director, Motoroyale.

“Motoroyale is a one-stop-shop where exotic and never-seen motorcycles will be made available,” he said.

In the next phase, the company would open showrooms in six more cities in 12 months.

Mr. Firodia said apart from catering to the requirement of India, the company will also sell these superbikes in other Asian countries.

In India, the company plans to achieve a sales volume of 2,500 units in one year. In the next three to four years, it has plans to scale up the sales to 10,000 units both in India and Asia with an estimated sales revenue target of ₹900 crore.

“We have already invested ₹30 crore in this project and planning to raise about ₹75 crore to ₹100 crore from private equity investors to scale up our business. There is demand for superbikes in the country and other Asian markets and we will tap into that demand,” Mr. Firodia said.
